How to Use the Saxenda Pen
The revolutionary Saxenda Pen is designed for simple, quick and efficient use, and can be successfully completed in a few simple steps:
1. Pull the pen cap off and attach a new needle
Take a new needle and pull off the paper tab. Push the needle straight onto the pen and turn it until it’s tight. Pull off both needle caps, keeping the outer needle cap on.
2. Prepare the pen
Check Saxenda flow before the first injection with each new pen. Turn the dose selector to select the flow check symbol. Pull the pen with the needle point up then press and hold the dose button until the dose counter returns to zero. The zero must line up with dose pointer. Make sure a drop appears, repeat up to 6 times if necessary.
3. Select the dose
Turn the dose selector and select the dose you need to inject.
4. Inject the dose
Insert the needle into the skin as instructed by our in-house doctor. Press and hold the dose until it shows zero. Keep the needle in the skin and count to 6 to make sure the full dose is delivered.
5. Remove the needle:
Remove the needle from the skin, then remove the needle from the pen and dispose of it in a sharps container. Put the pen cap back on, and you’re all done! Always read the instructions for use in your Saxenda medication guide.
